Kime Buzzelli

Kime Buzzelli's work is inspired by music, voyeurism, magazines, story telling, and fashion. I think that in terms of market levels and target Kime Buzzelli and Esra Roise's illustrations are similar. They both use vibrant and striking colours and soft lines, although I feel Buzzelli's illustrations are much more harsh compared to Esra's.

The last two images show how I have used one of Kime's illustrations and recreated it, i did the outlines using pencil and scanned them into photoshop and used different brush tones and changed the opacity to create this.

Esra Roise

Esra Roise is a Norwegian freelance illustrator, "Inspired by seemingly small unimportant everyday situations, and snapshot photography with their impulsiveness, bad cropping and weird angles. People around me, the fashion industry, music, awkward moment and imperfections." http://www.esraroise.com/about/ I feel that all Esra's illustrations are very youthful and the mood is happy and joyful, she used pencil and splashes of vibrant colours. I would say that her illustrations are aimed at young and artistic people, and although some of her work is quite detailed I would say that the market level that it would fit into would be high street.

These three images are all illustrations that I have created. The first is one of Esra Roise's drawings, and the last two I have used my own images and illustrated them in the style of Esra Roise. I find her work inspiring and I would like to use this style of illustration on my final boards.

London Fashion Week 2011

Whilst at London Fashion week, I had the pleasure of seeing the Osman, Autumn Winter 2011 collection. This was my second time watching a catwalk show, and it was still as surreal and overwhelming as it was the first time. The collection consisted of wide-leg trousers, simple gowns and basic tunics. Osman is described as using a signature architectural cut. His use of colour in this collection intensifies the effect of the structure. He contrasted both colour and texture. Using thick wools, light silks and chiffon, as well as using black with shocking pink, turquoise, red and limes. (unfortunately I forgot my camera and all the images were taken off iphone so not very clear)
